Summer
This morning, the kids and I went to Lake Elmo to swim and hang out for a couple of hours. The kids played in the water and sand and I got to sit under a tree and read my book. Quite an enjoyable way to spend the morning.
This afternoon, the kids - mostly Micah and Johanna - set up a lemonade stand down the street at the park. They have been begging to do this so, finally, I said they could. They did all of the planning and work and did it quite well. After a while, Johanna came home with a blue mouth, grinned at me with blue teeth and said, "We got ice cream." Seems they used the profit they earned from selling 5 cups of lemonade plus the original change and bought themselves ice cream from the ice cream truck.
Obviously, the most logical way to use the money. At least by 9 and 11 year old logic.
Sam came home holding an empty popsicle stick, covered in something sticky, and so very happy.
This is summer.
